Earlier today, Steven Tyler officially announced his decision to leave American Idol.

So where does Jennifer Lopez stand regarding her judging role? This morning on The Today Show, the pop star was unsure of her future on the singing competition show.

Now Deadline reports that J.Lo is still in the midst of contract negotiations with Fox about returning to Idol — and if she does come back, it’s not going to be cheap!

“She wants a lot of f*cking money, a lot,” a source close to Jennifer said. “She wants to do movies. She’s expecting her team to deliver. She feels she’d rather be on Idol performing than judging everyone else.”

Considering the career revival she’s had over the last couple of years, it seems natural that J.Lo is itching to move on to other projects. But Fox is still mum on whether a decision is close at hand.

“It’s complicated and fluid,” a source at the network told Deadline. “It might get resolved very quickly or may drag on for another few weeks. All the usual reasons: money, schedules, desire to continue, and overall makeup of the judges panel.”

Jennifer definitely has her hands in a lot of different pots right now. In addition to her current world tour with Enrique Iglesias, she’s developing a new drama for ABC Family and successfully pitched a TV series to Oxygen starring boyfriend Casper Smart.

Considering she topped Forbes’ Celebrity 100 list this year, we think Jennifer’s got some serious clout on her end!
