After much speculation over whether American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez will stick around for Season 12, a new report says she’s already made her choice to leave the show after two seasons on the judging panel.

Yesterday, when speaking of Idol on The Ellen Degeneres Show, Jennifer said she was unsure about returning. She reasoned that while she does enjoy being a judge for Idol, she wasn’t sure if she could return for a third year. “I miss doing other things. It really does lock you down, which is nice the first year with the babies being three, but now they’re getting more mobile, they’re about to go into school,” she explained.

E! Online now quotes sources stating that she is not coming back. “[S]he’s just too busy,” says one source.  J.Lo plans to hit the ground running on a major concert tour with Enrique Iglesias across the Americas this summer, and E! claims she’ll be touring worldwide starting in the fall and continuing at least through year’s end. That means she’d be tied up when American Idol Season 12 auditions  take place in the summer/early fall.

TMZ spoke with Idol boss Nigel Lythgoe after Jennifer’s Ellen appearance, and he declared, “We want her back. I want her back.” He went on to say, “I know how much she loves doing the show and how much she cares for the kids … It’s a business. She has to weigh everything.”

Nigel took some heat yesterday for his words on X Factor’s new judging panel. Guess it’ll soon be his turn to either convince J.Lo to stick around or find someone who’s “experienced” enough to handle the gig!
