Jessica Sanchez is primed to be one of the few American Idol success stories, after releasing debut album Me, You & the Music yesterday, April 30.

"It's exciting because I did covers for my whole life, and now it's like, 'Original music!'" she tells PopSugar in this new interview. "I'm, like, cheering up and down"

Plus she returned to the Idol stage last month to perform her single "Tonight."

"It was definitely easier because I knew I wasn't going to get judged. And it was a lot more fun because I had Ne-Yo to perform with me. And I was just debuting my new single. I came on there as a new person because everyone knew me as [someone] standing there, singing ballads. And I was like, more fun, dancing."

And as if that wasn't enough, Jessica also has a recurring role on Glee this season.

"[Creator] Ryan Murphy called my management," she recounts. "I told him, 'I've never acted before — I'm not going to lie to you!' … We just recorded two episodes, and one just aired."

But don't be fooled by her quick cameo in the most recent episode.

"Definitely there's more," she spills. "I will be saying things! I will be acting in it! [Laughs.]"
