American Idol Season 11 runner-up Jessica Sanchez hasn’t been slowing down one bit since finishing in second place behind Phillip Phillips. She’s been jet-setting around the country to sing the national anthem at major sporting events, and she’s amping up for the American Idol summer tour as well.

Jessica’s long-time vocal coach and mentor Robert Talon, who has known Jessica since she was 9 years old, recently spoke up about why he believes the singer is a rising star.

“When it comes to talent and image, she’s got it,” he told Inquirer Entertainment. “I have yet to see another undiscovered person with Jessica’s talent in the years I’ve been working with her. She’s truly a diamond in the rough... It is the infancy of her career and the whole world now gets to come along for the ride!”

Robert, who reportedly grew closer to Jessica’s family during the tumultuous American Idol experience, says that his only concern for Jessica is that she hopefully has someone close by to help her remain grounded.

“We’ve seen this scene played over and over in Hollywood — fame easily goes to one’s head if not managed right,” said Robert. “There’s got to be one stern individual in her circle who’ll be able to tell her ‘No!’ when needed.”
