Julianne Hough and Ryan Seacrest may be in a happy long-term relationship now, but she admits that she was initially reluctant to get involved with someone as powerful as the American Idol host.

In a cover interview for InStyle’s 2012 Makeover issue, Julianne said she had reservations about the Emmy-nominated host and entrepreneur at first.

"I was reluctant because he is such an influential guy, and what if it didn't work out?” she said. “Our first date, I was so nervous that I just sat there and interviewed him with questions like, 'Are you loyal?' and 'Are you close to your family?'"

Ryan may not have returned her on-air declaration of affection in June, but Julianne told the style mag that she’s definitely having a great time with her busy beau of two years.

“When we do see each other, we are super excited and do these cute and romantic things,” she said.
