While divas Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey certainly got all of the pre-season 12 American Idol hype due to their feuding drama, it’s been judge Keith Urban who has really won over the hearts of viewers. In fact, a lot of online polls have pointed to him as being the fave judge this year. And, after looking at that gorgeous face, masculine tattoo, and tight tees on him all season, we only have one word to say: swoon.
That’s why we were over the moon when we heard he’d be the first judge this season to perform a song on the show. Keith is set to perform on Thursday’s results show, and he’s likely using it as a warm-up for this summer’s “Light The Fuse” tour (tickets go on sale April 5).
While Ryan Seacrest revealed the fact that Keith would be performing on the show, it was the Aussie judge, himself, who revealed it online. He took to Twitter to profess his excitement, tweeting, “Psyched to play tomorrow night on #Idol.... I hope Randy and the girls put me through !!! -KU #IdolKU.”
Keith’s shy, polite demeanor yet uncanny ability to deliver a straightforward critique has really made him irreplaceable on the show. You hear that, Nigel [Lythgoe]? America has spoken, and WE LOVE KEITH!
