You might recall our original report that Kellie Pickler’s drummer, Gregg Lohman, was in a terrifying four-car collision in Kentucky a couple of weeks ago. At the time, the American Idol alum-turned-Dancing With the Stars contestant asked fans for prayers and support via her Facebook page:

"Yesterday, my drummer Gregg Lohman was in a horrific car accident and is currently in ICU. Gregg is not just my drummer, he is family. I believe in miracles and the power of prayer, so it would mean the world to me, my band, and Gregg's family if you would please keep him in your prayers. Thank y'all so much..."

Thankfully, Gregg was released from the hospital yesterday, and has been transferred to a physical rehab center in the Louisville area for continued recovery. According to Fox News, the musician is already showing signs of improvement by walking and eating on his own.

A post on his CaringBridge blog reads:

"We are so pleased to report that Gregg continues to blow us away with his progress. Under his quiet persona is a determined bulldog!... As always, we also thank you for your support and kind words to Gregg. I know he sure appreciates all of you.”

The buzz is that Kellie Pickler could be one of the best competitors on this season of Dancing With the Stars, so Gregg could be fortunate to have a good deal of time to recover while she dances with partner Derek Hough. She’ll continue touring once she’s done with the show.

We wish Gregg a speedy recovery, nonetheless!
