Kree Harrison was the girl that we predicted would win season 12 for weeks on end. The past few weeks, however, she’s faltered, just in time for vocal powerhouse Candice Glover to pick up speed.

As Jimmy Iovine said a few weeks back, Kree’s vocals and upper range are unparalleled, but her performances are getting a bit boring. Whether that was her pinched nerve or perhaps sheer exhaustion from the intense Idol schedule, we’re not sure, but we hope she gets back to the Kree we fell in love with weeks ago.

Last week, the Nashville-based demo singer took on Celine Dion’s “Have You Ever Been In Love” for her diva choice and the judges were amazed at the country singer’s versatility. As Nicki Minaj said, “Kree is not country, she’s worldly, she’s iconic.”

The other judges loved her as well, but Keith Urban and Mariah Carey weren’t as fond of her performance of The Black Crowes’ “She Talks To Angels”. They felt like she lost herself by trying to perform too much, but Nicki disagreed, calling it the best performance of the night. Let’s not forget that she also told Mariah to “Simmer down, sir!” Scandalous, dahlings!
