When it comes to the music business, there’s little time for relaxation, even when you’re recovering from a car accident. American Idol Season 8 winner Kris Allen knows this all too well. After a New Years Day head-on collision while in the car with his pregnant wife, Katie, and their pooch, Zorro, the singer narrowly fit in time for surgery on his broken wrist before his first show in Killington, Vermont, on January 8.

The tour, aptly named Out Alive, has taken him to cities all across the U.S. He’s certainly enjoyed the sights and takes time to post photos from beautiful places like Tucson, AZ, and Carlsbad, CA, on his Instagram page.

Kris enthusiasts have loved the addition of the fan request for his concerts, where concert goers can tweet song requests to the singer before a show. He’s played everything from Outkast’s “Hey Ya” and The Lumineers “Hey Ho” to Justin Timberlake’s “Cry Me a River”. Kelly Clarkson did the same thing on her North American tour, and fans love adding their two cents.

Kris has undergone some treatments for his wrist while out on tour, recently posting on his Facebook page, “Just did some rehab here in Tucson. This guy killed me.”

It’s good that Kris is hitting the road now, as he’ll be taking on the role of new dad soon enough. On January 13th, the “Live Like We’re Dying” singer tweeted, “Just got to hear my baby’s heartbeat for the first time. Pretty awesome!”

Have you been able to hit one of Kris’ shows? If so, let us know what you thought!
