What can we say about American Idol 2013 finalist Lazaro Arbos that hasn’t already been said? He wowed us in his first appearance on the show, and it’s not out of the realm of possibility that his initial audition may have been the most emotional in American Idol history.

His parents revealed that the Naples-based ice cream scooper has suffered from a debilitating stutter since he was six years old, which caused him to be bullied in school and left with few friends. However, when he opened his mouth to sing, there was nary of a sign of any speech impediment. The judges were stunned, and there weren’t likely many dry eyes at home, either.

Fast forward to current day, and some of us are perhaps getting a little bitter that he is still around despite having a number of bad performances and flubbed lyrics. He is the object of Vote for the Worst’s affection, and we suspect many are voting for him out of pity. While we wish him the best, we hope he doesn’t keep knocking people out of the competition who have been nearly flawless. We’re eager to see what goes down this Thursday on the results show.
