Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez: The Similarities Are Uncanny!

While we’re still mourning the imminent loss of Jennifer Lopez from the American Idol judging table, we’re also rejoicing at the addition of superstar Mariah Carey to the show.

There definitely isn’t room for two divas on one singing competition show, especially when they have as much in common as Mariah and J.Lo do. How similar are they, exactly? Let us count the ways:

They are both mothers to twins.
While Mariah and hubby Nick Cannon are the proud parents of “dem babies,” 1-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan Scott, Jennifer is the doting mother of 4-year-old twins Max and Emme with soon-to-be ex-husband Marc Anthony.

They are both chart-topping singers.
As one of the best-selling artists of all time, Mariah has also had 18 number one singles, which is more than any other solo musician. Jennifer herself has 11 number one songs and her most recent single, “On the Floor,” is one of the best-selling digital singles of all time.

They are both known for their curvaceous bodies.
J.Lo has long been considered to have the most bootylicious bod of them all, but Mariah’s curves are a close contender as well. Both are fond of flaunting what they’ve got in a variety of form-fitting outfits.

They have both been married multiple times.
As Mariah first rose to fame in the early 1990s, she married record exec Tommy Mottola, who was 21 years her senior. Their union last for five years before they split. The singer married again in 2008 to actor/comedian Nick Cannon. J.Lo’s been known for several high-profile romances, but she’s been married only three times, first to waiter Ojani Noa, then to dancer Chris Judd, and finally to singer Marc Anthony. She and Marc are currently separated, with Marc having filed divorce papers back in April.

They are both in relationships with younger men.
Mariah is more than a decade older than hubby Nick (11 years to be exact), but she’s got nothing on J.Lo, who is 19 years older than her current main squeeze, 24-year-old dancer Casper Smart.
