It’s heartbreaking to think of sick kids in the hospital during the holidays. But for those at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital in Nashville, Christmas got a little brighter with a visit from original American Idol winner and mega star Kelly Clarkson.

As part of the Musicians on Call volunteer program, the recently engaged singer spread holiday cheer with an acoustic performance in the hospital’s theater. Clarkson performed some holiday sing along classics, like “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer” and “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” making time to visit those who weren’t able to attend the singalong in their rooms.

“This is such a special time of year and I’m so happy to be able to share it with all of these great kids,” she said during her performance. “I’m probably having just as much, if not more, fun than they are.”

Kelly is just one of many musicians who have donated time to the Musicians on Call cause. Other notable contributors include Idol Season 5 alum Kellie Pickler and Hootie and the Blowfish singer Darius Rucker.
