Nick Cannon is the latest celeb to question the feuding between wife Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj, saying the inflammatory video between the American Idol co-judges was purposefully leaked by show insiders to pump up ratings.

Speaking to the ladies of The View on Tuesday, he said, “I believe [the fight] was real to the extent of it actually happened, but if you ask my opinion, I've produced tons of television, and I don't know anybody who can stand with a camera phone right in front of the monitor and record it and nobody say anything, and then it just magically gets on TMZ."

When asked by host Elisabeth Hasselbeck whether he truly believed the video leak was an inside job, Nick said he stood by that assertion.

While Nick’s not worried about Mariah’s safety on the set of Idol he told the Huffington Post that he thinks it was just a moment of frustration between the two ladies he did say that it was “distasteful” for Fox to “promote that for the ratings.”

Tough words from a guy who previously tried to divert the conversation back to the contestants when talking about Idol. Your move, Fox.
