Cheers to the stars of American Idol for nabbing a combined eight nominations for this year’s American Music Awards!

Season 12 judge Nicki Minaj leads the pack with a whopping four noms, including Favorite Female Artist and Favorite Album (for Roman Reloaded) in both the pop/rock and rap/hip-hop categories. She’s tied with Rihanna for the most nominations this year.

Nicki responded to the fantastic news on Twitter, writing “4 nominations?!?!?! Whoa! Thank you so very much to the American Music Awards. Very, very grateful. Luvu Barbz!!! mmmmuuuaaaahhhh!!!!”

Nominated for Favorite Female Artist in the pop/rock category is Season 1 winner Kelly Clarkson, who’s also up for Favorite Artist in the adult contemporary genre.

Meanwhile, Season 4 champ Carrie Underwood was nominated for Favorite Female Artist and Favorite Album (for Blown Away) in the country music genre.

Carrie excitedly tweeted, “Can't believe I got 2 AMA nominations! Such a happy day! Thanks to my amazing fans! #blessedforsure!”
