Katie Couric may have unintentionally blown FOX’s big announcement about who will take a seat at the judge’s table for the premiere of American Idol.
While Mariah Carey officially signed on as a judge in July, we’ve all been left wondering who will fill the other three seats. But in a preview for Katie’s new talk show, Katie, in which she interviews former Idol judge Jennifer Lopez, the host appears to have announced this season’s judges. Or was she just being presumptive? Guess we’ll have to wait and see until the official announcement is made!
Check out the manuscript from Katie’s interview with Jennifer, which airs on Friday, September 14:
Katie: What do you think about the new group of judges?
Jennifer: Did they announce?
Jennifer: Who is it?
Katie: Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban and Randy [Jackson]. Randy's back.
Jennifer: Randy is! Oh thank god. I love Randy. I'm glad he's doing it.
Katie: What do you think of that group? That's sort of interesting, don't you think?
Jennifer: That's an eclectic group.
Jennifer: Yeah it is.
Katie: I'm glad. I think it will be fun to have Keith Urban there.
Jennifer: I think they all have something really different to offer so it should be interesting.
