Remember when we reported about a possible deal between Pepsi and Simon Cowell’s new show, The X-Factor? Well, it seems the arrangement between American Idol’s former prince of darkness and America’s second-favorite soft drink is now officially a done deal.
Pepsi will play a similar role on X-Factor to that of Coca-Cola on Idol, with lots of product placement and mucho deniro siphoned into the network’s coffers — and no doubt a healthy amount going into Cowell’s own pocket as well. No actual figures have been released for public consumption, but if the rumored figures of between $50 and $100 million tell us anything, this deal was major, and Simon is totally rolling in it.
All that money should buy him a lot of tight, black v-neck shirts. Good for him, we guess?
