Ever since being named the American Idol winner for Season 11 Phillip Phillips has been running at top speed, but he may have finally been sidelined due to illness. What’s wrong with him that could cause him to put a full stop on his current tour? We have to wonder if the severe kidney issues that plagued him during American Idol have returned.

Phillip Phillips’ breakout album, The World From the Side of the Moon, debuted at number four on the Billboard Top 200 Album chart and number one on the Billboard Rock Album Chart. The album, along with his debut single, “Home,” has exceeded $4.2 million in sales.

Obviously, the seemingly shy singer’s star has been on the rise and he’s been working hard to promote himself and his music every way he can. He opened for Matchbox Twenty’s North American tour and was just billed as the opener for John Mayer’s comeback tour this summer. Meanwhile, he’s been touring universities around the country to fire up college fans.

To say that P2 has been a wanted man is a huge understatement but, sadly, something seems to have interrupted his plans for world musical domination. Iit was recently announced Phillip Phillips would have to cancel a show in Eau Claire, WI, and we’re hoping it’s not due to his kidney condition. The “Gone, Gone, Gone” singer suffers from a congenital kidney disorder that causes kidney stones that are too large to pass. He underwent an astounding eight surgeries during his run on American Idol and another grueling six hour surgery after the show ended and before the 2013 American Idols Live! Tour began.

Not only did Phillip Phillips cancel his May 6 show at UW-Eau Claire, but he has reportedly canceled the entire remainder of his spring tour due to illness. He had nine shows left on the university tour, including one show set to take place in Dublin, Ireland. If it were just one show we might say it was just the flu or something, but this doesn’t sound good. In fact, there’s no word yet on whether Phillip will still be performing on the American Idol finale.

Get well soon, Phillip!
