Poor Phillip Phillips! After toughing out kidney stone complications all season on American Idol and coming out with the win, his much-needed surgical treatment (originally scheduled for today) has reportedly been postponed.

According to TMZ, Phillip’s surgery has been delayed due to a high fever he’s experiencing from a sinus infection. The surgeons reportedly won’t operate under his current conditions and have rescheduled the operation for “early next week.”

Phillip, who was reportedly born with just one functional kidney, had been suffering pretty much the entire season with kidney troubles, requiring eight minor surgeries throughout the competition and causing him intense, debilitating pain. He’s expected to take several weeks to recover from the kidney reconstruction surgery, after which he’ll join his fellow Season 11 contestants for the Idol Summer Tour.

We just hope he gets some relief from all of his physical woes soon!
