Taking a short break from the American Idol summer tour, Phillip Phillips took his hit single “Home” out to the ballgame for last night’s Major League Baseball All-Star Game in Kansas City, Missouri.

Phillip, who joins his fellow Top 10-ers in St. Louis tomorrow to resume the Idol tour, looked more comfortable and enthused on the stage than we’ve seen in a while. He even danced a bit as he belted out his big first hit!

Phillip’s health has quickly improved following his difficult kidney surgery after the finale, and he sure looks to be in good shape and great spirits!

He made his big comeback on Independence Day in Washington, D.C. and has been juggling additional performances, the Idol tour, and preparing his album for (hopefully) a November or December release.

It’s a busy time for him, but he’s obviously handling the packed schedule beautifully. We just hope he gets time to see some of the sights, as he's hoping to while on tour!
