Ready for the first album from American Idol Season 11 champ Phillip Phillips? Well, it will be here before you know it!

Spilling precious details about the much-anticipated album to Yahoo! Music, Phillip said that the plan is to have it ready by November or December by working furiously through the summer.

“I wanna have a little writing at least on each song. So that’s definitely what I’m going to be pushing for,” Phillip explained. “We’ve recorded a few songs… not like full, just rough. So, just trying to get the songs figured out and whatnot. And it’s coming along… it’s going to be a long summer of getting stuff done.”

As for what sort of music the “Home” singer will incorporate into the first record, it’ll be “a little bit of rock and acoustic stuff, and maybe a little jazz, not really hard jazz or anything,” Phillips said.

Phillip’s brother-in-law Ben, who joined him on the Idol stage as a backup guitarist during Season 11, will make a cameo on the album. Ben was the one, after all, to get Phillip interested in music, and Phillip calls him “an amazing guitarist.”
