Pia Toscano’s elimination from American Idol last night has caused such an uproar that some are posing theories that the vote counting was flawed in some way. This seemed pretty unlikely to us, until we heard this interview with RadarOnline.com, when a voter attested to experiencing a lot of difficulty voting for Pia after Wednesday’s performance episode. Remember, this is only one person’s testimony. But it definitely still made us go hmm…

Said John Marcario of Fairfax, Virginia, “My wife was trying to vote for her online and couldn’t get it to work.... [She] clicked on the link online and it didn’t work first time, then she tried again and it still didn’t work. It wasn’t until the fifth time that it finally worked! We thought if people wanted to vote for her, they’d have to keep on clicking. But if they only used their cell phone there may be a problem. When Pia got voted off, my wife and I first commented to each other, ‘I wonder if the voting glitch had anything to do with it?’ It was really weird.”

Wow. If it comes out that Pia’s elimination was due to some computer glitch, we’re pretty sure the Idol-verse would get totally turned upside down. Of course, we’ll follow this story as it develops.
