Hollywood must know something about Jessica Sanchez that we don’t yet, because they’re after her in a big way! After snagging her first acting gig on the popular TV series Glee, the American Idol Season 11 runner-up is reportedly in talks for another music-related turn on-screen: a film adaptation of the legendary Broadway musical Miss Saigon.

Broadway World reports that Jessica’s being considered for the main part of Kim, a Vietnamese orphan who falls in love with an American soldier amidst the fall of Saigon. Jessica has one very influential supporter: Broadway star Lea Salonga the original Kim thinks she would be great for the part. “If she’s the one that they’ve chosen, or she’s somebody in serious consideration, then that’s a good thing,” Lea said. “We all know she’s talented, we all know she’s actually quite beautiful.”

Lee Daniels, known for the Academy Award-nominated film Precious, has been attached as director, but details of the film are still being worked out.

Could Jessica Sanchez be shaping up to pull a Jennifer Hudson and become the next big thing in music and movies? From where we’re sitting, it sure seems likely!
