We can always count on the ever-chipper Ryan Seacrest to put a happy spin on things.
The American Idol host addressed the curse-laden spat between judges Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey during auditions in Charlotte, NC yesterday, saying that the feud is actually a great thing for the program.

“Both of these judges, as I have said before, come with different perspective,” said Ryan during his radio program, On Air With Ryan Seacrest. “Nicki’s got a specific perspective about what’s playing and hot on the chart right now, and Mariah has got that iconic experience and that legend status, being one of the greatest singers alive … You know, when you put [these judges] together that you’re going to have different opinions, which is fantastic,” he said.

He revealed that Nicki’s strong words she’s heard saying "I told them I'm not f**king putting up with her f**king highness over there,” regarding Mariah came after the two femmes disagreed over one auditioner and conceded that things between the two she-judges “went a little too far.”

“It was heated,” he admitted. “It did go too far to the point where the producers said, with only a few more contestants left, ‘let’s call it a day.’” Thankfully, the contestant in question made it through to the Hollywood round, and the auditioners who were left hanging yesterday will get a chance to sing today.

While he’s not sure if Nicki and Mariah have yet made up, the second round of Charlotte auditions begins today, so they’ll have to work together whether ready or not.
