You know, we’re not sure why, but when we hear the words “American Idol host, Ryan Seacrest,” we don’t immediately think of high-school football. Call us crazy, but the news that Kid Butterscotch was a starting defensive back for his high school football team kiiiind of took us aback a little bit… Perhaps even more so, when we read a quote from his former coach, who said Ry-Ry was actually a bit of a menace on the field.

“[Ryan] was feisty. [He] would knock the crap out of people,” Ryan’s coach tells Atlanta.SBNation.com.

Whazafuh? But apparently Ry liked broadcasting even more than donning pads and “knocking the crap out of people,” because announcing for his high school team’s football games were reportedly where he got his start behind the mic.

We’re glad you made the change, Ryan, though we admit we’re a little bit scared of you now.
