If the showrunners can’t snag Brad Paisley for a judging spot on American Idol Season 12, one drastically different alternative has presented himself in the form of rapper Snoop Dogg — er, Snoop Lion, as he’s decided to rename himself.

The Huffington Post reports that after hearing how much the judges have been able to make on Idol, Snoop told an interviewer, “I’ll do American Idol,” and jokingly shouted for his manager to “Get on it!”

The show’s execs have touted their intention to introduce “creative reinvigoration” to the program, and Snoop would certainly put some entertainment value on the judging table. We can see how it might cause some confusion if Randy Jackson stuck around with his trademark catchphrase, “Yo, Dawg.”

It could be a logistical nightmare of D-O-Double-G proportions, but it would be pretty fun to watch!
