Steven Tyler Won’t Confirm American Idol Return
We already know that Jennifer Lopez is still mulling over whether to return for a third season as a judge for American Idol, but could Steven Tyler be considering a departure as well?
In an interview with The Washington Post, Steven wouldn’t spill whether he or Jennifer intend to stick around for Season 12, but he did say he enjoyed working with a “sexy beast” of a co-judge like J.Lo.
“I’m always flirting with her,” he said. “It’s not a bad thing. It’s really a good thing. The best part of it all is that we been able to pick some good talent. Just look at this year.”
He added that despite rumors to the contrary, his commitment to and participation in Aerosmith has not waivered as a result of him being on the show. In fact, the legendary group is releasing a new album this summer with a supporting tour. The band is also expected to debut its first single during the second part of the Idol finale on Wednesday, May 23.
Steven also reiterated his support for Top 2 contestant Jessica Sanchez, who he previously picked to win the whole competition.
“She sings so good you can’t deny, but America votes for it, so we’ll see,” he said.
