Jennifer Lopez’s “On the Floor” producer, RedOne, believes her diva-ness is poised for a major comeback! The super-producer spoke with MTV News recently and sang the pop star’s praises, citing her triple-threat status and mass appeal among her dance-crazy fans.
Said RedOne, "I love J.Lo. I've always been a big fan. She's a true star. They asked me to work with her and I was like, 'Absolutely.’ She's one of those that I've always admired. What she's done with the music and film and everything, she's a true artist — a 360 artist.”
While J.Lo’s star power is undeniable, RedOne said that finding the right mixture to incorporate all aspects of her appeal proved a little tricky at first. Expectations with such a huge star were high, especially for one so multi-faceted.
“She's a dancer. She can sing… She's a global actress, and the music has to be global, and the rhythmic side of it or the Latin and this thing of a dancer [all has to be there]. She said, 'I want to dance. I want to make people dance and be able to sing with me.' That's what we did, and it feels good."
While we’re still a little on the fence about “On the Floor,” we have no doubt whatsoever about J.Lo’s star power and think the dance-heavy single will be a big hit for her. And we know the new album, Love, will have something in there for us, even if we’re not feeling this one. Because that’s just the kind of please-everyone star she is!
