Symone Zaire Black famously fell off the stage in Round 1 of Hollywood Week for American Idol Season 11. The 16-year-old contestant finished singing Otis Redding’s “[Sittin’ On] The Dock of the Bay,” answered one question from judge Randy Jackson, and promptly passed out, falling forward and off of the raised stage. The fainting spell ended the episode, leaving Idol audiences in an anxious lurch after hearing producer Nigel Lythgoe frantically yell for medics.
So, what happens to Symone after her fall? A FOX spokesperson tells Entertainment Weekly Symone is now fine, although she did require treatment for dehydration. Symone didn’t have to go to the hospital, however; she received on-site aid from medics and resumed auditions for Hollywood Week. As for how far the California girl makes it, you’ll just have to wait and see — or peek at our spoilers.
