Elise Testone hails from a small town in New Jersey where she spends her time teaching voice lessons during the day and singing in local pubs at night. The raspy singer — who describes her voice as a “delicate yet deeply stirring blend of soul, jazz, and hip-hop” — is certainly no amateur. She’s already opened for Snoop Dogg, Nappy Roots, and Kevin Costner’s band Modern West! Now she’s on the American Idol stage to prove she’s got what it takes to finally be the headlining act.
