Co-creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk kept the secrets behind Jessica Sanchez’s appearance on their hit FOX show Glee locked tighter than Fort Knox for a long time. Finally, the date for Jessica's first appearance on the hit show has been announced and we have all the details!
The Hollywood Reporter called hers a “recurring role” and rumor had it she might play a love interest for Finn or possibly be part of a choir. But no one, including the tiny troubadour, herself, seemed to know for sure. This left us all to wonder, just when is Jessica Sanchez appearing on Glee? Well, the official announcement has been made and Jessica will be making waves in her Glee debut on May 2. She'll be playing a "legendary singer" from a competiting high school.
Wait, what? We heard she was going to have at least four episodes... but that's the second to the last episode of the season! According to THR, Jessica will return for the season finale. Will she be back for more next season? We'll let you know as soon as we find out!
The American Idol runner-up isn’t relying on just her stellar voice alone to carry her through her guest appearance on Glee. She's been taking acting lessons in preparation. As she said, “I can’t wait to get on the show and see how I do and see how everybody reacts to it.”
Jessica already took the stage with one Glee star, Kristen Chenoweth, for a moving rendition of “Enough is Enough” for a Donna Summers tribute but, alas, it never aired. As for which Glee star she’s most excited to work with, the Idol alum told THR that she can’t wait to meet Santana (Naya Rivera), gushing, “That’s the girl I really want to meet and give a hug!”
With stars o’ plenty on the hit show, it would be possible for anyone to be star struck on set. But Jessica has already been rubbing elbows with a host of A-listers. She met none other than George Clooney at the Carousel of Hope Ball, collaborated with Ne-Yo on her debut album, and performed at this summer’s Democratic National Convention, so she’s already used to the star treatment.
How do you think Jessica will do on her small screen debut?
