If you’re like us, it seems like only yesterday that Kelly Clarkson walked into her initial American Idol audition, wearing an outfit she fashioned herself, and spouting cute little phrases like, “Cool beans!” Here are we are -- 12 years and 12 American Idol seasons later -- and she’s not only all grown up, but she’s planning what Taste of Country is calling “one of the most anticipated wedding ceremonies of 2013.” Day-am!

As if the singer, who is currently working on her first Greatest Hits compilation, isn’t enough star power, Kelly’s buddy and fellow Texas native Blake Shelton is taking on the role of “wedding singer” for a day. To boot, there is now talk of future mother-in-law Reba McEntire even taking part. The Country icon joked via Twitter, “And speaking of the engagement, since you are going to be my daughter-in-law, I’m singing at the wedding, right?”

When Kelly stopped by K-Frog Radio, she said she’d like to keep it intimate, but is already finding this to be a challenge. “We’re actually thinking the fall this year. We’re thinking outside,” Kelly revealed. “We are trying to make it small, but it’s hard. I literally had a breakdown two weeks ago about the wedding list.”

You might not think that someone who just performed at the President’s Inauguration Ceremony would be worried about the attention, but Kelly is surprisingly nervous. “I’m actually terrified at everyone watching me walk down the aisle,” she admitted. “That’s like the worst thing ever.” Well, we're afraid it wouldn't be much of a Kelly Clarkson wedding without the bride being present, so she'll just have to endure!

Hey, Kelly -- how about having WetPaint.com cover your autumn nuptials? Please, pretty please, with sugar on top? We can dream.

What songs are you hoping make it onto Kelly’s Greatest Hits album?
