The judges watched a parade of 42 American Idol hopefuls before the Final Judgment, Part 1, but there could only be 24. Nearly half the wheat had to be separated from the chaff, which means tears for the contestants and platitudes from the judges for those who were being sent back home. (Randy Jackson said they were blessed to have so much great talent numerous times.)
During The Final Judgment, Part 1, 14 grateful singers secured spots in the Top 24, and eight felt the sting of the rejection. Are you praising the infinite wisdom of the judges for saving a certain contestant, or cursing them for cutting your favorite?
