Baylie hasn’t been toiling away in her hometown since being eliminated from Idol. She’s been busy recording music and performing as a background singer on CMT’s The Singing Bee. Baylie has also been a staff writer for Universal Music Publishing Group since 2008, according to her CMT bio. IdolLive reports Baylie was once signed to Universal South Records, but it appears she’s since been dropped from the label.
On her Facebook page, Baylie makes it clear she believes fame is a process. "I don't want to be an overnight success story. I'm proud of what I've done, I love where I am now, and I'm excited about what's next. I love country music, and I want to be a part of it for a long time."
