Country star Jason Aldean and wife Jessica Ussery have reportedly split up after he cheated on her with former American Idol contestant Brittany Kerr seven months ago. But who is Brittany Kerr exactly besides just being a former reality TV show contestant?
Brittany Kerr auditioned for American Idol Season 11 in Savannah, GA. Beyond her brief flirtation with reality TV stardom, Brittany is reportedly a dancer for the Charlotte Bobcats, according to her Twitter feed. One thing's for sure: She knows how to work a panel of judges. When she walked into the room back in Season 11, wearing a sassy outfit of ripped white jeans and sky-high heels, judge Steven Tyler blurted: "I say yes."
Apparently, country singer Jason Aldean had the same reaction when he saw hottie Brittany at a bar last fall.
Fun fact: Brittany Kerr told TMZ she has a black belt in taekwondo at age 12. "I definitely made some boys cry while sparring ... I had a killer high kick!"
Brittany sang Joss Stone's "Spoiled" for her audition number on American Idol Season 12. While Steven and fellow judge Randy Jackson were wowed, Jennifer Lopez wasn't as impressed, telling Steven: "Make her sing a note, help her get it out." Randy and Steven's combined votes overrule J.Lo's and Brittany made it to Hollywood. Unfortunately, the blonde singer was cut during the last round of Hollywood auditions.
Brittany's name resurfaced last fall due to allegations that country singer Jason Aldean cheated on his wife of 10 years with the former Idol contestant. The two were photographed getting cozy at The Den bar in Hollywood and making out. Jason left the bar solo, but fans were so outraged at the incident that a flood of abusive tweets caused Brittany to shut down her Twitter account.
Jason publicly apologized for the incident on his Facebook. Brittany also later apologized, but said she had no idea Jason was married at the time.
