Lauren Gray is a 22-year-old girl from the small town of Hardy, Arkansas. She sings in a band with her dad and works at the family's full-service wedding shop, the adorably named Petals and Lace. Lauren was the last audition shown on American Idol Season 11, and her audition number was written by the one singer Jennifer Lopez griped about hearing too often this season: Adele.
But Lauren wasn't just any amateur contestant; she belted her heart out during her cover of Adele's "One and Only" before the judges. Jennifer was so impressed that when producers asked for a summary of the St. Louis auditions, she said: "Two words: Lauren Gray."
This wasn't Lauren's first attempt at making it to Hollywood Week; back in 2005, Lauren was in the car with her family on their way to Memphis auditions when Hurricane Katrina required the auditions to be cancelled.
UPDATE: Lauren Gray was eliminated in Season 11: "The Final Judgment, Part 1."
