If an unique moniker has any effect on helping American Idol hopefuls stand out among the crowd, then Shubha Vedula certainly has a leg up on her competitors.

As one of the lucky names included on the Season 12 spoiler list as part of the Top 40, the Mt. Pleasant, Michigan native has some seriously powerful vocals. There’s no shortage of samples of performances by her on YouTube, although they all seem to be power ballads.

As in the case of the Jessica Sanchez vs. Phillip Phillips finale in Season 11, the WGWGs (white guys with guitars) have edged out such female singers in seasons past. We're hoping the crow this year will finally go to a girl again.
