Who went home on American Idol tonight? Well, it's all up to the voters and they had a seriously tough choice this week. On American Idol last night, the Top 3 performance show was one of the best in the show's history — even if the American Idol ratings are still terrible. The show may be on a steady decline, but these singers just keep upping their game.
Last night's American Idol performances included three themes – Jimmy’s Choice, Judges’ Choice, and Producer's Choice. In other years, the contestants have had to deal with some unfortunate choices for them but, last night, everyone did a great job picking songs that really highlighted the strength of the three remaining girls. Of course, this leaves us asking just who will go home on American Idol tonight?
Going into the American Idol 2013 Top 3 results tonight, we have a feeling it might be Kree Harrison. The American Idol judges and Jimmy Iovine have been urging her to get her passion and stage presence to match the top notch quality of her voice. Keith Urban has been particularly hard on her, constantly telling her that her performances seem disconnected. But two out of three of Kree's songs last night still didn't seem to have that emotional oomph.
On the other hand, everything did come together for last night’s unforgettable performance of “Here Comes Goodbye.” Her emotion came through every pore on her body and the vocals were unparalleled. Coming on the heels of that tearjerker of a home visit, we’d be hard put to say many had dry eyes while watching. Was this her comeback performance?
We definitely thought she had a chance following that amazing song. However, her last performance of “Better Dig Two” feel nearly completely flat in the eyes of the American Idol judges. In fact, Nicki Minaj said, “Whoever picked that song for you should be stoned.” She couldn’t afford that, as Angie Miller and Candice Glover were so strong across the board all night. Candice ended the night with a history-making performance of “Somewhere” that could have easily snagged her the win.
Before the results were announced, we were pretty sure it would be last call for country girl Kree Harrison... but we were in for a SHOCKING surprise. All the fan sites and bloggers that had Angie Miller as the safe one tonight? Well, they were totally wrong! After all the votes were counted, it was Angie who ended up in last place!
Angie Miller was voted off American Idol 2013 tonight, which means the Top 2 for Season 12 are Kree Harrison and Candice Glover!
