Who went home on American Idol tonight? We certainly had a hard time deciding who would get voted off! Do you think you got your prediction right about who would be eliminated?
The contestants worked with the theme of “Musics From the American Idols,” which limited their song choice to tunes written by past Idol winners or any songs performed by them during the competition.
Curtis Finch Jr. off the show with his version of Fantasia’s “I Believe,” a track that showcased his soaring vocals but the American Idol judging panel found to be a safe choice for the gospel singer. They gave Devin Velez similar criticism for singing Carrie Underwood’s “Temporary Home.”
Angie Miller predictably gave another stellar performance with her rendition of Celine Dion’s “I Surrender,” and Kree Harrison also wowed the judges with her take on Roy Orbison’s “Crying.” Keith Urban even said that he could listen to Kree sing the phonebook and it would sound fantastic.
But the standing ovations of the night went to Candice Glover, who blew the audience away with a powerhouse performance of Tom Jones’ “I Who Have Nothing,” and Amber Holcomb, who sang Kelly Clarkson’s Season 1 coronation song, “A Moment Like This.”
With the response from the judges being rather middle-of-the-road for some fan favorites, we were unsure of who the viewers would decide to send home during the Top 10 results show. Our fan poll voters told us their pick would be to eliminated Curtis Finch Jr. or Lazaro Arbos. Here are the results:
