Who will win American Idol 2013? We've got a 50/50 chance of getting this right, but we're going to go with the masses and say it's Candice Glover. Even Keith Urban, who admits, as we do, that Kree Harrison is an amazing singer, said Candice has the edge.
And, while it might sound like a preschool platitude, everyone's a winner at this point in the competition. Even Angie Miller, who was recently ousted, is already in talks with a record label (possibly Jimmy Iovine's Interscope).
There’s no denying the masses have been extremely critical of American Idol this year, and everyone and his brother has been taking note of the decline in ratings for this long-running reality show. Yet, when you look at the talent, it’s top-notch, and has been since we got down to the Top Five girls.
Enough with the nice guy "everyone wins" talk, though, as the cold, hard truth is only girl can be standing there with confetti in her hair at the very end, and we definitely think it'll be Nicki Minaj's "Candi girl". Kree will give her a run for her money but, after seeing what Candice did with that performance of "Somewhere" last week, we'd be hard put to see anyone in the show's history even touch this girl's talent. The diva status writing is on the wall for Candice.
So we've gone ahead and called it – Candice Glover will win American Idol 2013. What do you think?
And dim the lights... here we go!
After the nationwide vote, the winner of American Idol Season 12 is.
