Would Ryan Seacrest ever host The Voice?
Asked today at the Television Critics Association meeting in Pasadena about his discussions with NBC, which reportedly include the possibility of his joining the Today show, Ryan declined to comment on Today — but he did not outright deny a question about NBC's singing competition. Ryan, whose deal with Idol runs only through this season, was asked if he would ever think about hosting The Voice if he ends up having a closer relationship with NBC. He did not deny it, saying that, as of right now, "I can only think about American Idol."
FOX will clearly do all they can to keep Ryan at American Idol: Both Kevin Reilly, president of entertainment for Fox, and Mike Darnell, president of alternative entertainment for the network, said on separate TCA panels today that they can't imagine Idol without that special Seacrest touch! Neither can we! We're counting down the days until the premiere of Season 11 of Idol, Jan. 18 on FOX!
