The more you know: Heejun is the most GIF-able contestant in American Idol history.
Heejun Han is a 24-year-old American Idol Season 11 contestant. For his audition in Pittsburgh, Heejun walked into the room, told Ryan Seacrest he had a small face, and promptly belted out a cover of Michael Bolton’s “How am I Supposed to Live Without You?”
The 24-year-old has only gotten more adorable in subsequent rounds, confessing to the Idolcamera during Hollywood Week that the other contestants intimidate him: “Everyone's so tall and pretty... even the guys are so pretty!" Heejun was born in Korea, but now works in Flushing, New York, as a nonprofit organizer who works with kids. He credits the kids as his inspiration for pursuing music. You can follow him on Twitter here.
During Hollywood Week, Heejun forms a group with the formidable Savannah favorite Phillip Phillips, and two other contestants, calling themselves “MIT.” In American Idol Season 11, "The Final Judgment: Part 1," Heejun calls Jennifer Lopez "the American dream." He's basically SEason 11's most quotable contestant, hands down.
In his semifinal performance, Heejun charmed viewers once again in his opening segment (awww... we love his dancing mom!) and got mixed reviews from the judges for his take on "Angels."
