Scary news for friends, family, and fans of American Idol alum Josh Gracin. The Season 2 finalist posted what appeared to be a suicide note on his Facebook, leading police and neighbors to rush to his aid.
Before we get into the details, rest assured that Josh is now safe. TMZ’s latest update says he was held on a psychiatric hold after driving himself to a hospital with a police escort on August 14. Hollyscoop adds Josh later returned home.
That’s good news after what Josh posted on his Facebook. The former Marine, who has four children with wife Ann Marie, wrote how “I’ve loved her for 17 years… I made mistakes… I admitted them, told her the truth, and she turned her back on me when I needed her help the most.” He continued, “Please remember me as someone who gave his all in his music… Pray for my family as they carry on in this world without me… Goodbye.”
That post has since been deleted from his Facebook (TMZ’s got a screenshot of the message). Late in the day on August 14, Josh’s manager, Amy, posted a note of thanks. “Josh is safe and with his family now,” she wrote. “We ask that you please respect their privacy during this time and continue sending your well-wishes. I promise to update you soon.” The latest post announces Josh’s August 15 show in West Virginia has been canceled.
Anybody else looking forward to leaving this week behind?
