Adriana Latonio performs Destiny Child’s “Stand Up For Love” in American Idol 2013 girls semi-finals.
More of Adriana...
While we didn’t see much of Adriana Latonio during the girls’ American Idol 2013 Hollywood Week, the pint-sized Anchorage, Alaska, native commanded the stage for a rousing rendition of Aretha Franklin’s “Ain’t No Way” for her solo performance during the Las Vegas round.
The 17-year-old beauty goes to East High School in Anchorage, where she is an honor student. And don’t expect her success on American Idol to give her a big head, as the musical director at Adriana’s school describes her as “Just the nicest kid. Not an ounce of arrogance or pretentiousness.” And a friend there describes her as “always bubbly and happy.” Adriana has one sister and a huge extended family with roots in the Philippines.
Like many of her fellow hopefuls, Adriana has been singing since she was young. She sang for her talent in the Little Miss Philippines pageant, and she opened for a concert at West High School which was headlined by Filipino superstar Sheryn Regis. A multi-talented performer, Adriana can dance (she’s a member of East’s Dance Contempo group) and act, having performed in her high school’s performance of Once Upon a Mattress last year.
