More on Amber...
American Idol 2013 hopeful Amber Holcomb calls her tryout (and eventual cut) from last season her “just kidding round.” The gorgeous singer said she’s going to bring it ten times harder this year, and that couldn’t have been more evident than when the 18-year-old Shepherd, Texas native sang “My Funny Valentine” during the Las Vegas round.

When the judges asked her what changed in her from last year, she said she got a makeover and she stepped into her own sense of confidence. They couldn’t have agreed more. As Keith Urban said, “You took this old-fashioned song and you just made it timeless” and “you knocked it out of the park.”

Nicki Minaj said her vocal was an “A+++” and joked about her “legs for days” and “pretty little dimples.” She did say, however, that she worries her inner shine might not convey to the viewers through the TV. Randy said the performance “was like a shining diamond,” but did say she needs to believe she deserves to be here.

In her Road to Hollywood interview this year, the gorgeous singer said Joshua Ledet is probably her biggest Idol inspiration. She loved being able to perform alongside him last year and then watch him grow as a star.

If Amber can work on her overall confidence, we think she could go far — very, very far.
