Aubrey Cleland performs Fergie’s “Big Girls Don’t Cry” in American Idol 2013 girls semi-finals.
More on Aubrey...
To say that American Idol judge Nicki Minaj was over the moon to hear hopeful Aubrey Cleland sing her solo rendition of “Sweet Dreams” during the Las Vegas sudden death round is a huge understatement. In fact, she said, “I’m obsessed with you.” It helps that this Chapman University college student is breathtakingly beautiful. In fact, according to the Idol Chatter blog, the stunning singer and her mother won Family Circle Magazine’s nationwide Mother-Daughter Model search that drew over 2,300 entries.
Aubrey is from Portland, Oregon, where she grew up with an intense love for animals. In her brief bio clip that was shown before her Las Vegas performance, she mentioned her desire to be a veterinarian when she was young. Instead, however, she moved to Orange, California, to pursue her dream of becoming a singer.
Like many of her American Idol 2013 peers, Aubrey is a crafty show veteran. She made it to Hollywood Week during season 10, to the Green Mile during season 11, and has finally landed that elusive and highly coveted spot in the Top 20.
