Does Jake Gyllenhaal Have a Blinking Problem?
Jake Gyllenhaal himself doesn't have a blinking problem — but Detective David Loki, his character in the 2013 film Prisoners, does. Jake worked closely with director Denis Villeneuve on building the character, including the facial tic.
"Physical things, like the twitch and stuff like that, that sort of began as an idea, early on. It really just felt right," Jake tells Moviefone. "I realized that he had so much going on in his mind, so many pieces of information to hold onto, and, emotionally, he was repressing so much, that sometimes that comes out in strange physical ways and attributes and tics."
He tells the LA Times that he came up with the blinking quirk himself, and when he pitched it, the director was reluctant. “I remember meeting Denis at a diner in New York before we shot the movie and I said: ‘I think the character has some physical tic or attribute … and I could see his reaction,’” Jake tells the LA Times, rolling his eyes. “Directors can have a sense of terror when you suggest something like that.”
Does Cameron Diaz Eat Dairy?
For the most part, no, Cameron Diaz does not eat dairy. In a January 2014 interview with People discussing her new book, The Body Book, she confesses that she's struggled with skin problems her whole life — and cutting dairy from her diet cleared her skin up dramatically.
"I used to have really bad skin and that was absolutely due to the food that I was ingesting," she says. "I went around with really bad acne well into my early 20s. Even into my 30s, when I was still eating a lot of dairy. I'd get those little white bumps all over my skin – I stopped eating dairy and it completely changed my skin."
Of course, a life without the foods you love the most seems like a pretty bleak existence, no? Cameron acknowledges that occasionally, you have to dig into something bad for you — the trick is to leave it for special occasions.
"I'm a total advocate for eating the things you love," she counsels. "For sure I splurge. Health is an equation. It just depends on how many times you pick good over bad. You need a higher ratio of good, and if you do [that], you're ahead of it."
Does Tyra Banks Have Kids?
Tyra Banks is a sharp businesswoman, an engaging talk show host, and successful television entrepreneur — and she's gorgeous as ever to boot. The America's Next Top Model host is not, however, a mother... at least, not yet.
So will she be passing on all those good genes and wisdom to the next generation? While she might not start a family in the immediate future, says Tyra in an October 2013 interview with Access Hollywood, it's definitely on the horizon.
“I will have children, whether they come out of me or come to me,” Tyra swears.
Does that mean she'll be adopting children? “I’ve been wanting to do that since before it was cool,” jokes Tyra. “Since I was 9 years old, I’d be like, ‘Mommy! I want a baby, but it don’t have to be my baby and I can take it from over there and I can raise the baby.’ She’s like, ‘That’s called adoption,’ and I’m like, ‘Yeah, mommy, I want to do that.’”
While Tyra does want kids eventually, she's not in any major rush! She clarified in an interview with Metro in January 2014 that she's not slowing her career down to raise children anytime soon.
"I think there’s a weird thing with women when we’re high achievers and have high goals, sometimes it’s like, “Why don’t you just sit down and have a baby?'” she says. "I know I’m an overachiever and I’m not apologetic about it. I will continue to bring projects and interesting things to the public and won’t be slowing down anytime soon, it’s only going to get bigger."
