Simon Cowell and his cronies are bringing another UK sensation over to the States (hey, we gave them Geordie Shore...) after a billion seasons of American Idol success. The X Factor treks across the pond this fall for its American debut, complete with former Idol judges Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul on the panel. The singing competition is getting tons of buzz due to its popularity in the UK and the unprecedented $5 million grand prize (seriously, why even pursue music at that point? Hire a competent investor and be done with it). Like American Idol during the winter and spring months, The X Factor will air on Fox September through December in the same time slot as America's Next Top Model.

ANTM switched their time slots mid-cycle this year to wriggle out of ratings competition with American Idol (which obviously blows everyone out of the water every week), but it looks like Tyra Banks just can't catch a break. We're pretty sure The X Factor will take off stateside with all the popularity it's garnered on its home turf. Will this spell disaster for ANTM's ratings? Probably. Could Tyra and the gang get the ax if they perform badly enough in the ratings race? Eh, doubtful. After 16 cycles, and plenty of them with poor ratings, we're not sure anything can kill off the Tyra's empire and modeltestants.
