Photo: DaCosta is our favorite named model of all the cycles, but that’s neither here nor there. What matters is that she’s carved a pretty successful acting career for herself since finishing second in Cycle 3. She had recurring roles on the television shows Ugly Betty and All My Children, and her film credits include Take the Lead, Honeydripper and The Messenger. Most recently she appeared in The Kids Are All Right, a film starring Annette Bening and Julianne Moore that received crazy good reviews. She’s also in the upcoming film Tron: Legacy.
We love getting good news about America's Next Top Model alumni, so we're very happy to report that Cycle 3 runner-up Yaya DaCosta was recently cast in a new pilot for ABC, according to Deadline Hollywood.
The show, which is currently untitled, is about an astrophysics grad student named Carter (played by Max Thieriot) who discovers he is fated to bring down the forces of evil. Yaya has been cast as Amy, a member of a "very special Council," who befriends Carter and knows about his destiny.
Sounds cool. We hope the pilot gets picked up. Congrats, Yaya!
