CariDee managed to hang onto the Cover Girl contract she snagged as part of her ANTM winnings for two years, and she loved working for the cosmetics giant. Why? A sick Christmas bonus. Says CariDee, "Working with Cover Girl was amazing and they're so great. Like at Christmas they sent a nice Louis Vuitton. They're just an amazing company to work for."
CariDee may have lost her Cover Girl gig, but she's doing just about everything else — photography, recording music with band Better Than Ezra, hosting Oxygen's Pretty Wicked, plus acting spots on One Tree Hill and Gossip Girl. CariDee is even trying to pitch her own TV show.
But, English says, her favorite gig thus far has been her work with the National Psoriasis Foundation. CariDee, herself, suffers from the skin disease, and she loves lending her name to the cause.
"My biggest accomplishment is being able to be a source of inspiration for people who have my disease," she says. "That, hands down, is incredible to be able to inspire. And that's why I get into art and that's why I think every artist is a great artist – they want to inspire people in anything that they choose to take on."
Some models have recently come out condemning America's Next Top Model as the place modeling careers go to die, but CariDee disagrees. She claims the competition definitely gave her a leg up in the modeling world. "America's Next Top Model doesn't make you a super model," English admits. "But it definitely lets you cut in line."
Translation: Ann still needs to get a personality ASAP.
