What separates fashion designer Daniella Issa Helayel, Wednesday night's guest judge on America's Next Top Model, from most of us is that when Daniella couldn't find a dress to wear, she just started her own label. The London-based brand Issa debuted in 2001, featuring dresses designed to transition easily from, let's say, brunch with your best guy friend to a formal work dinner. Or whatever two scenarios you'd like to substitute.
Daniella's designs have been sported by a number of celebrities (Oh, hey, Madonna, Scarlett Johansson, and Kylie Minogue), but the only thing that matters, really, is that Kate Middleton wears Issa dresses. That navy blue frock Kate wore to announce her engagement to Wills? Issa all the way. Understandably, there was lot of speculation that Daniella would be designing Kate's wedding dress as well, a job we now know went to Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen.
Well, Daniella, at least you got the second coolest gig of the year. We'll see you Wednesday night!
